Walking robots turned a few heads when they paid a visit to Sensation in Dundee.
They were accompanied on Tuesday by Professor Barbara Webb, of Edinburgh University’s Institute of Perception, Action and Behaviour.
Professor Webb later visited Dundee University, where she gave a British Science Association lecture entitled Robots And You.
During her talk, she discussed whether the intelligent robots of science fiction are on the brink of becoming fact and revealed that some apparently basic problems are still surprisingly hard to overcome, with research in robotics giving new insight into human capabilities.
Professor Webb visited Dundee under the National Science and Engineering Week banner.
To celebrate the week, Sensation is offering free entry between 3pm and 5pm until Friday and a complimentary healthy snack from the science centre’s coffee shop, Infusion.
