Montrose Basin giving greater insight into bugs’ life
ByNews reporter
Young wildlife enthusiasts will have a chance to gain a greater insight into the types of bugs inhabiting Montrose Basin thanks to a new feature at its visitor centre.
The centre run by the Scottish Wildlife Trust has received funding from Angus Council which has allowed the installation of an insect identification panel.
It will provide information about the different kinds of creatures children are likely to come across and will play a key role in the education programme already in place and overseen by the resident teacher naturalist.
Visitor centre manager Caroline Hendry said it would also become a central resource for educational events which were planned for Montrose Basin during the summer holidays.
The panel has been unveiled ahead of a busy summer season which will see the visitor centre open seven days a week from March 1 onwards.
