Dundee boss Gordon Chisholm has warned first-choice keeper Rab Douglas that new understudy Scott Fox is looking to replace him.
Fox signed a pre-contract deal with the Dark Blues on Tuesday ahead of formally joining them on July 1.
And Chisholm revealed the 22-year-old former Celtic man hasn’t plumped for Dens Park just to back up the veteran goalie.
The manager said, “With what he has done in the game and the way he played last season, big Rab is going to be difficult to dislodge from the side.
“But Foxy is determined to get that number one jersey and he’ll certainly provide the big man with competition.”
Chisholm has abandoned taking his charges to the north-east of England for pre-season training owing to budgetary constraints the Dark Blues will instead prepare for the new season locally.
