Rubble all that remains of fire-ravaged CeeGee’s in Crieff High Street
ByNews reporter
A gaping hole has been left in Crieff High Street after the devastating blaze which ripped through a clothes shop early on Tuesday.
Demolition experts moved in on Wednesday to tear down the gutted CeeGee’s shop building after inspections showed the blackened shell was too unstable to remain.
The usually busy town centre area was sealed off as the wrecking ball and bulldozers moved in to complete the job started by the ferocious blaze. The street remains subject to traffic restrictions.
Four people had to be evacuated as fire tore through the two-storey building, engulfing the shop and upstairs flat at 3am. Remarkably no one required medical attention.
At the height of the blaze fire appliances and 32 firefighters from across Perthshire attended.
