Police have been continuing their efforts to try to find the burial site of Errol man Adam Alexander, who was killed almost 12 years ago.
Officers from Tayside Police visited farmland near Errol brickworks on Tuesday looking for the grave of Mr Alexander following “anomalies” from a previous search from Home Office scientific branch officers.
Detective Chief Superintendent Roddy Ross said the latest dig was part on an “ongoing investigation” into the matter.
Mr Alexander was 39 when he was killed by Thomas Pryde, of Scone. The Errol biker was previously regarded as a missing person after last being seen at his home on November 14, 1999.
Pryde later confessed to his then wife Angela that he had “done something wrong.”
In April 2010, Pryde was jailed at Edinburgh High Court for 10 years for the culpable homicide of Mr Alexander.
