David Low, who ran the chain of sports shops that bore his name, has died at the age of 88.
Born in Carnoustie, Mr Low was educated at Arbroath High School and St Andrews University.
He served in the RAF during the Second World War before joining the family business a golf shop which had been started by his father in Dundee’s Commercial Street.
Mr Low went on to open shops in Carnoustie and St Andrews and ran the annual Scottish Professional Golf Championship.
He later concentrated his efforts on his Golf Classic business, which made wooden putters and traditional clubs. The products proved popular across the world and led to Mr Low making regular visits to Japan and America until the age of 80.
