Raith Rovers have made a further move towards preparing for their second season back in division one by completing the signing of winger Scott McBride from Fife neighbours Cowdenbeath.
The former Dunfermline player has agreed a full-time deal with the Stark’s Park club.
Although he was only on Cowden’s books for five months — having previously been on loan to them from the Pars since the summer of 2009 — Raith may have to pay a small sum by way of compensation for McBride, an issue that’s yet to be settled.
Nevertheless, boss John McGlynn expressed his delight with the capture.
“Scott caught my eye when Paul Smith and I went to watch the play-offs,” he said.
“He’s pacy and gets plenty of crosses in, which is what you want from a wide player. He also offers an aerial threat.
“At 20 years of age he has a lot of potential and I can see him being a real asset to us.”
