Car fans to stage second Paul Walker tribute in Kirkcaldy
ByMichael Alexander
Thousands of modified car enthusiasts are set to return to Kirkcaldy Esplanade in October to honour a tragic movie star.
Last December more than 2,500 vehicles from all over Scotland joined a tribute to actor Paul Walker, just days after the star of The Fast and The Furious films died in a high-speed road accident in California.
The 40-year-old was a passenger in a Porsche and on his way to an event for his own charity when the car smashed into a lamp-post and burst into flames.
A social media campaign saw thousands of car enthusiasts converge on Kirkcaldy creating a four-mile queue at the Esplanade.
Now organisers have confirmed details of the event they are planning for October 18.
A six-hour event is being planned which will see Kirkcaldy Esplanade closed for up to eight hours.
See Wednesday’s Courier for more detail.
