Travellers have set up home next to one of an Angus town’s main landscape attractions.
A group of six caravans have berthed next to Forfar Loch, next to the Caravan Club site there. The ground is owned by Angus Council, and the local authority confirmed it is aware of the encampment and is monitoring it in line with policies and procedures.
It is understood the group are Irish Travellers. Two weeks ago another group was forced to move from nearby Orchardbank Industrial Estate.
Angus Council workers and contractors faced “mountains of rubbish” after a group of 30 caravans were handed a court order to vacate council-owned property.
