Police have identified the pedestrian who died after being involved in a collision with a car on the A9 Perth to Stirling road. John Gibson, 79, died in the accident near Gleneagles at 3.20pm on Thursday. The southbound lanes between Auchterarder and Blackford were closed for around four hours after the incident. This led to massive disruption for motorists who were diverted through Auchterarder and then back on to the A9. Emergency services were called to the collision but police confirmed that the pensioner died as a result of his injuries. Anyone who witnessed the accident is being urged to phone Police Scotland on 101.
