Former Friends of Dundee Heritage Trust chair Mildred Mottashaw

Mildred Mottashaw, former chair of the Friends of Dundee Heritage Trust, has died at the age of 82.
Born Mildred Esplin, she attended Harris Academy, where her father had been a principal teacher of maths.
During the Second World War she was evacuated, however, en route to Canada her ship was torpedoed, but was able to return to Greenock.
She eventually made it to Canada in 1956, where she spent two years as a teacher. Mildred and husband Douglas moved to Fife in 1999, spending her later years in Strathkinness.
A memorial service takes place today at St Leonard’s Parish Church, St Andrews at 3pm, to which all friends are invited.
