The Dons’ superb win over Groningen in the Netherlands put them through to face Spanish club Real Sociedad in the third qualifying round. That has had a knock-on effect on the league curtain-raiser between the clubs at Pittodrie. The match that was orginally scheduled for Saturday, August 9 will now take place the following day with a 3pm kick-off.
