A man who downloaded more than 29,000 indecent images of children and 44 hours of indecent videos at a Glenrothes address has escaped jail.
James Dickson admitted that between May 2011 and September 2013 at Waverley Drive, Glenrothes, he downloaded 366 videos, running to 44 hours in length, and 29,674 images.
At Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Tuesday, Sheriff James Williamson said a social work report showed Dickson presented a low risk of reoffending.
He sentenced Dickson, 45, of Northmuir Road, Drumchapel, to a three year community payback order that included 300 hours’ unpaid work and to take part in the Clyde Quay sex offenders project.
