The tree was put up in the city centre on Thursday and passers-by were quick to complain about the lack of branches and its poor condition. The Courier watched today as workmen were deployed to carry out repair work. A spokesman for Dundee City Council admitted damage had been done to the tree and it might have to be replaced. He said: “We are aware of the damage to the tree and remedial work is being carried out. “If that is unsuccessful, a replacement tree will be brought in.” For more on this story, see Saturday’s Courier or try our digital edition.
