Ronald Wylie, the former chief executive of Tullis Russell, has died at the age of 84.
Born in Edinburgh in 1930, Mr Wylie was educated at Melville College before graduating as a chartered accountant from Edinburgh University.
Soon after he was drafted for national service, which he completed in Leeds.
It was during this time that he met Brenda, whom he married two years later in September 1955.
The newlyweds moved to Lundin Links, with Mr Wylie taking up a position as an accountant at the Tullis Russell paper mill near Glenrothes.
He would stay with the firm for 30 years, working his way to company secretary and then joint managing director, before eventually being appointed as chief executive.
It was for his services to the paper industry that he was awarded an OBE shortly before he left Tullis Russell in 1985, after which he was heavily involved with Young Enterprise Scotland.
Mr Wylie was well-known in local circles and was an elder at Dysart St Clair Church.
He was also passionate about music and regularly attended concerts and the opera.
A keen sailor, Mr Wylie was a member and commodore of Burntisland Sailing Club.
He is survived by his wife Brenda, sons Roderick and Stuart and grandchildren David and Emma.
His funeral service will take place at Dysart St Clair Church today at 12.30pm, followed by a private committal.
