A serial rapist has been found guilty of a catalogue of ‘degrading and humiliating’ violence against women in Tayside.
Allan Johnstone was convicted of eight counts of rape against six women in Dundee and Forfar over a 20-year period.
The High Court in Perth heard that the 50-year-old got off on humiliating his victims during his campaign of terror.
He forced one of the women to drink milk from a dog bowl and another to lick the contents of an ashtray.
Johnstone beat one victim with a poker after she took too long to make a bacon sandwich and attacked another when she did not put enough sugar in his cup of tea.
The jury were also told that Johnstone had repeatedly tortured pets, including strangling a hamster, hurling a Spaniel against a TV set and trying to flush a cat down the toilet.
Johnstone was found guilty of eight charges of rape against six women between 1984 and 2004.
He was also found guilty of attacking a four-year-old boy and making false allegations to police about a woman sexually assaulting her child.
Lord Bannatyne deferred sentence to the High Court in Glasgow for November 28.
