An admin worker who was caught with a stash of depraved child and animal images has been banned from owning any computer until the police install monitoring software on it.
Wayne Hopkins was sacked from his job with Scottish and Southern Energy after being arrested in connection with a hoard of 1,000 child and animal pornography images.
He is now only allowed to own one computer and one smartphone and has to reveal his password and email address to the police. He was also banned from encrypting any material.
Hopkins was placed on the sex offenders register for three years and ordered to carry out 300 hours of unpaid community work by Sheriff Fiona Tait.
He admitted having indecent images of children at his home in Sidey Place, Perth, between June and November 2012.
He also admitted having extreme pornography depicting bestiality between November 2012 and February 2013.
Perth Sheriff Court heard that police found a total of 1,338 indecent photographs of children and 289 extreme bestiality images on Hopkins’ computer and storage devices.
