Angus driver walks away unharmed from spectacular crash into fast-flowing burn
ByGraham Brown
A female Angus motorist had a miraculous escape after her car came to rest in a spate-hit burn on Friday morning.
The silver Vauxhall Astra ended up in the Vinney near the village of Craichie, at the B9128 turnoff to Lour around 9am.
The car was the only vehicle involved in the incident and demolished a telegraph pole before landing in the fast-flowing water.
Full details of the woman’s escape from the submerged passenger compartment of the car have not been released but it is understood she made her own way out of the car and, astonishingly, escaped serious injury.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland’s Tayside Division said: “A 25-year-old woman was treated for minor bruising at Whitehills Hospital in Forfar.”
