Three women are to stand trial accused of stealing bank cards from an 87-year-old man and using them to take more than £3,700 from his bank accounts.
Sara Ferguson, Tracey Lawrence and Emma Sneddon are alleged to have targeted Robert Lockhart at his home in Glenrothes between August 1 and September 6 last year. The trio are first said to have stolen bank and Post Office account cards in his name before using them to withdraw cash from ATMs in the town.
Ferguson, 26, of Methilhaven Drive in Buckhaven, Lawrence, 39, of Hatton Green in Glenrothes, and Sneddon, 30, of Macduff Gardens in Glenrothes, each denied charges of theft.
Depute fiscal Kyrsten Buist told Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court: “Mr Lockhart is an essential witness and will be cited for this case.
“He’s an elderly gentleman, aged 87, and will be required.”
Sheriff Maxwell Hendry continued the case to trial later this month.
