The upper crust of the pie-making world are gathered for the 16th World Scotch Pie Championships.
Around 100 butchers and bakers from across Scotland will converge in Dunfermline to battle it out for pie supremacy.
As well as Scotch pies, the menu will include lip-smacking sausage rolls, brilliant bridies, succulent savouries and appetising apple pies.
For the third year, there will also be a prize for the best football pie. And it will once again be Pie Pie Baby for Bay City Roller frontman Les McKeown.
For the second year running, he is taking on the enviable task of pie tester in chief.
And with his birthday on Wednesday, Les is in for a wee treat as the current world champion, The Kandy Bar of Saltcoats, has baked a special cake in his honour.
Stephen McAllister from The Kandy Bar said he was delighted to be last year’s winnerand added: “To have been able to call our Scotch Pies the world champion as judged by a panel of experts has made a huge and positive impact on our business in the last year.”
The competition has run for 16 years and aims to highlight bakers and butchers who create top-quality pastry products.
The winner of the Scotch Pie category will be declared world champion in January.
The contest takes place in the Carnegie Conference Centre, Dunfermline, on Tuesday afternoon.
