A software developer has been banned from the roads for driving drunk from a wedding.
Scott Littlewood admitted having 58mics of alcohol on his breath while driving on Murrayshall Road, Perth, on October 17. The legal limit is 35.
The 31-year-old had been at a wedding with his wife, held at a nearby hotel.
Depute fiscal Bill Kermode said police received a call reporting a crash at around 10.30pm.
They found the accused’s car had travelled 20 metres over a grass verge and come to a halt against some trees. They traced Littlewood at around 10.50pm and he admitted driving it.
Defence agent Chris Gilmartin said his client had left the hotel after an argument with his wife and intended to clear his head.
He later returned to the hotel in a state of shock and another guest called the police.
Mr Gilmartin said Littlewood “deeply regrets” getting in the car that night.
Sheriff Valerie Johnston said she would take into consideration the fact it was Littlewood’s first offence.
She fined Littlewood, of Linefield Road, Carnoustie, £455 and disqualified him for 12 months.
