Two in court on Forfar abduction and robbery charges

A man and woman have been remanded in custody after private court appearances in Forfar on abduction and robbery charges.

Meghann Beckers and Scott Dolan made separate petition appearances from custody before Sheriff Gregor Murray at the town’s sheriff court on Tuesday it is understood in connection with an incident in Forfar’s Bell Place in the early hours of Sunday.

Beckers, 27, of Forfar, faces two charges of abduction and robbery and is also accused of assault and threatening orabusive behaviour.

She made no plea or declaration and was committed forfurther examination.

Dolan, 25, also of Forfar, also faces two charges of abduction and robbery, as well as assault and threatening or abusive behaviour.

He also made no plea ordeclaration and was committed for further examination.

Both accused are expectedto appear back in court next week.

Their appearance followed a major police operation in the Bell Place area sparked by an incident around midnight on Sunday in which two off-road motorcycles were reportedly stolen from a flat in the street.
