Dundee boss Paul Hartley has praised club captain Kevin Thomson and left-back Willie Dyer for the patience they have shown after battling back from injury.
The duo were both first-choice picks for the Dark Blues before suffering calf and knee problems respectively back in August.
They have worked hard to return to full fitness but have had to be content with a place on the bench in recent weeks.
However, with a daunting trip to the home of defending champions Celtic looming large on the horizon, the manager hinted that Thomson could be handed a starting berth on Saturday.
He said: “Willie understands that Gary Irvine has been consistent.
“He knows he has to keep working hard in training and playing reserve games. He has to wait his turn.
“I think Thommo understands that also. He has been patient.
“We know he is a very important player for us.
“We will look at the personnel this week and see what approach we will take for the Celtic game.”
