In-form Brechin City head north to Peterhead today looking to extend their unbeaten run to five games.
That won’t be easy given they have yet to beat the Blue Toon in two attempts so far this season but confidence is sky-high after consecutive wins over Ayr United, Stenhousemuir and Stirling Albion, followed by last weekend’s thrilling Angus derby draw with Forfar.
The good news for manager Ray McKinnon is that his selection options continue to increase.
Alan Trouten, who scored the late leveller to make it 3-3 against the Loons, and Craig Molloy both came on as subs to make a difference and they come into contention for starting places at Balmoor.
Also, Kyle McAusland’s recovery from a broken hand is well ahead of schedule and he will also be available, while Colin Hamilton returns from suspension.
McKinnon said: “We have been playing very well of late and I am looking for more of the same when we face Peterhead.
“The good thing is that we have players coming back into contention and I am particularly delighted that Kyle is so far ahead of schedule.
“The bad news is that Callum Tapping will be out for the season having now had the operation on his cruciate.
“That’s a blow for the team and for him and we wish him well.
“We know it will be difficult going up to Peterhead and I am aware just how stuffy and difficult to break down they can be.
“We are full of confidence, though, and hopefully we can carry that confidence on to the park.”
