Dunfermline was transformed into a magical kingdom on Saturday with the official switch-on of the Christmas lights and Christmas tree by Scottish panto legend Dean Park and Fife Provost Jim Leishman.
The winter festival, organised by Dunfermline Delivers, got into full swing with festive storytelling, street theatre and traditional carol singers.
Kingdom FM and the Soul Kings entertained the crowds.
Santa and his merry men then paraded with their variety of followers from East Port to the Glen Gates at the foot of Bridge Street.
Visitors to the town centre over the festive period will also be able to check out the new businesses selected for the Venture Street initiative, which will be open for trade on Bruce Street until Christmas Eve.
Police said they received a few calls from people complaining it was so busy they were delayed leaving car parks but the problems were not described as major.
