Dundee man admits climbing on to moving police car
ByThe Courier Reporter
A Dundee man climbed on to the windscreen of a reversing police car he claimed was trying to knock him down, a court heard.
Andrew Anderson, 29, admitted committing the offence outside Bell Street headquarters last December.
Depute fiscal Kirsty Urquhart told the court that after Anderson climbed on to the windscreen, one of the two officers in the car got out and took hold of him, causing Anderson to shout: “I’ll f****** kill you”.
Anderson, of Ancrum Court, admitted climbing on to a moving police vehicle, seizing the windscreen wipers and uttering threats of violence on December 15 last year.
He also admitted resisting arrest in an ambulance in Peddie Street on August 27.
Sheriff Alastair Brown told Anderson: “It is quite clear your problem is alcohol and perhaps other substances.
“Unless you conquer that problem, you will continue to offend and go to prison. With the cases I am dealing with, I could send you to prison for four years.”
Sentence was deferred until January 7.
