Arbroath have just come off a game that the opposition were treating as a cup final.
And now they’ve got another one facing them tonight.
Scottish Cup minnows Bo’ness United were dealt with professionally, and Red Lichties manager Allan Moore has challenged his team to do the same against bottom of the league Elgin City, who have a new manager to impress.
Moore said: “We knew how hard it would be on Saturday because it was their cup final.
“We didn’t play our best football in the first half but we made sure we kept a clean sheet and we went in at half-time 1-0 up.
“Then, in the second half, we got back to what we are good at, got the ball down more and worked well off the second balls.
“I’m sure the Elgin players will be fired up to show their new manager what they can do.
“Going up to Elgin in midweek is always a tough game, however the appointment of Jim (Weir) last week makes this game harder.
“It will be about us showing the right attitude again.”
He added: “We beat them 1-0 earlier in the season, and it was comfortable 1-0.
“We’ve been at the top of the table for a while now, and we want to stay there.
“It’s got a bit tighter with Queen’s Park winning on Saturday, and Albion Rovers have got a game at Annan tomorrow night as well. So it’s important we win.”
On loan Dundee midfielder Dylan Carreiro returns to the squad after missing out at Bo’ness. Goalkeepers David Crawford and Scott Morrison are still injured.
