Montrose man had indecent child and animal images on home computer

A Montrose man has admitted having a stash of extreme pornographic images of bestiality and indecent child images on his home computer.
Edwin James Kirk, 53, a prisoner at Perth, admitted at Dundee Sheriff Court that between June 7 2004 and June 24 2014 at an address in Montrose he took or permitted to be taken or make indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of children.
He also admitted possessing indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of children at the same address over the same period and that, between March 23 2013 and June 24 2014, at the same address, possessing the images with a view to them being distributed or shown by him to others.
He further admitted that between January 3 2012 and June 24 2014, at the same address, he possessed extreme pornographic images depicting adults engaged in sexual activities with animals.
He also admitted a bail offence.
Depute fiscal Eilidh Robertson told Sheriff Brown she would be able to provide a written narrative of events on Thursday and the sheriff deferred sentence on Kirk until then, granting him bail.
