The next phase of a £2 million programme to resurface the A9 between Perth and Inverness will include improvements in Highland Perthshire.
Resurfacing of the A9 south of Inverness will start on Thursday, with the work to be carried out between 7am and 7pm from Monday to Friday.
Work on a 600m stretch of the road northbound of Ballinluig will begin on Monday and is scheduled to take two weeks.
Those works will be carried out between 7am and 7pm each day from Monday to Saturday.
The combined cost of both projects is £630,000.
To ensure the safety of road users and workers, alternating lane closures will be in place throughout the two-week periods at both sites, with the addition of a 10mph convoy system during working hours.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s operating company representative for the north west unit, said: “These essential works form part of the recent £2m investment programme on the A9 and will make the road smoother and safer, benefiting road users for years to come.
“Some delays are inevitable and we would, therefore, encourage motorists to plan their journey ahead where possible.”
