Brechin boss Ray McKinnon insists he will not be gunning for revenge this afternoon against Airdrie despite the fact Gary Bollan’s side beat City 4-0 the last time they met on October 11.
Instead, the Glebe gaffer is simply looking for his team to seal a victory that would extend their unbeaten run to a magnificent seven games.
Tellingly, he has almost a full squad to choose from, including on-loan Aberdeen player Jamie Masson who was not allowed to feature in last week’s Scottish Cup tie against Annan.
His parent club did not want him cup-tied but have now had a change of heart after they exited the competition at Dens against Dundee and the player will also be available for the replay at the Glebe this Tuesday night..
McKinnon said: “We lost two freak goals down there against Airdrie and then had three guys go off injured so it was a game I have just written off.
“I wouldn’t say we are looking for revenge, we will just approach this match as we would any other.
“Still, hopefully Gary will be coming into my room afterwards with us having won.
“We are on a good run just now and we have everyone back fit again with the exception of Callum Tapping.
“So there is lots of competition for places which is obviously a good thing.
“We will have Jamie Masson available again against Airdrie.
“We have also spoken to Aberdeen and the SFA and we have been given permission to play him in the cup replay against Annan on Tuesday night.”
There will be a minute’s silence just before kick-off as a mark of respect for former club physiotherapist Tommy Gilmartin who passed away last week.
