The killer of tragic tot Madison Horn is understood to be appealing against his conviction. Kevin Park, 27, was jailed for 22 years for the murder of the two-year-old in her home in Kelty in April. According to reports, the former boyfriend of Madison’s mother, Anne-Marie White, is to launch in appeal in a bid to overturn the guilty verdict. Park was supposed to be looking after Madison while Ann Marie was at a party. Instead, he battered the girl’s head off a wall twice and punched and stamped on her. Prosecutors also believe he beat her with a broken pool cue. Madison suffered 65 separate injuries, including a fractured skull, tearing to her liver and internal bleeding. Her father Thomas Haldane reacted with fury to the news of the appeal, given to him in a letter from the Victim Notification Scheme. Jailing Park at the High Court in Glasgow last month, judge Michael O’Grady said the crime was “wicked beyond all imagining”. He told Park: “No sentence I can impose can truly reflect the sheer awfulness of what you have done.”
