East Fife boss Gary Naysmith hopes his side can bounce back from last weekend’s last gasp disappointment when they travel to face Clyde this afternoon.
The Fifers looked on course to go on and win last week’s game at Annan after equalising in the second half, but a 90th minute penalty saw them ultimately leave Galabank empty-handed following a 2-1 loss.
It was a hard one to take for Naysmith and his men, but the Fifers remain in fourth spot and will no doubt be keen to hang on to that position between now and the end of the season if not improve upon it.
“We just need to try and bounce back and try to beat Clyde,” he said.
“There are games where you don’t deserve anything out of in a season but the Annan game wasn’t one of those.
“If we didn’t deserve three points, we certainly deserved one so to get nothing was desperately disappointing.
“We need to learn from it and need to move on.
“We need to look at the amount of times we get into the last third and chose the wrong option, and we need to look at our finishing in the final third because we had chances to get in front and we didn’t do that.
“So there’s been plenty to try and improve on.
“We’ll look to try and kick on and get on another run.”
Naysmith was sent off after conceding the penalty seven days ago and will therefore miss today’s match against Clyde.
“I was disappointed with myself because I’m an experienced player and I should know better than that,” he conceded.
