Amazon spreads festive cheer to children spending Christmas in hospital

The children’s ward at a Fife hospital has received an early Christmas present from one of the region’s biggest employers.
Amazon has donated £5,000 worth of toys and gifts to the ward at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
Among the gifts are a number of Xbox consoles and games, Kindles, a karaoke machine, portable DVD players, DVDs, CDs, books, and sensory technology.
Senior charge nurse Sharon said: “We are always extremely grateful for all of the donations we receive and this will undoubtedly make a lot of the children who come to the hospital very happy.
“Importantly, these gifts will help the ward feel like a home from home and detract from the fear some children may feel coming into hospital.
“We’ve been very keen to ensure the donations consider all age groups from babies and toddlers right through to teenagers and we hope this donation will help to make their time here more enjoyable.”
