Police in Fife are appealing for witnesses to an assault by a man on a 58-year-old woman in Methilhill.
The attack happened around 2pm on Tuesday in Main Street.
Detective Sergeant Jim McGuinness said: “The woman was not injured as a result of this incident, however was understandably shaken and upset.”
“The woman was walking in the area of a small pend leading from Main Street towards Pirnie Street, Methilhill, near to the local Credit Union office and on the opposite side of Main Street from the local Co-op supermarket.
“The man assaulted her as she walked past, before running off back towards Main Street, where he was lost from sight.
“The man is described as being aged between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 6 foot tall and of stocky build. He had brown-coloured dirty hair and a noticeably pockmarked face and was wearing glasses. He waswearing a white t-shirt and a distinctive brown coloured bomber style leather jacket with a white fur collar.”
Detctive Sergeant McxGuinness added: “Local officers will be carrying out high visibility reassurance patrols in the area and speaking with local residents and business owners. They will also be viewing CCTV footage of the area, and I appeal to anyone who was in the area and might have seen this person, or who recognises the description of the man or anyone acting strangely, to contact Police Scotland on the non-emergency 101 number.”
