Pittenweem couple Patricia and Eric Holland have hit out at fly-tippers who dumped rubbish outside their house following the temporary closure of Pittenweem Recycling Centre on Saturday.
Mrs Holland of Grangemuir, contacted The Courier to say: “Pittenweem Recycling Centre was closed but does that give anyone the right to dump their rubbish across from my house?
“Apart from the blatant disregard for anyone else’s property and the sheer laziness of it, the crows have already burst the bags so, no doubt the foxes, badgers and many others will do their bit, making it a hazard to wildlife.
“There are five bags, which mean that I will have to clean it up as the debris will land in my garden.
“Please, if the recycling centre is closed, take your rubbish home and recycle it another day.”
Mr Holland added: “People must have driven past the closed centre then just dumped their bags here. It’s ridiculous.”
Fife Council said yesterday the recycling centre was back open and staff were dealing with the rubbish dumped.
