Dundee’s gaming companies will entertain the country’s politicians as part of an inquiry into the economic impact of the entertainment industry.
Dundee companies Cobra Mobile, Guerilla Tea and Outplay will be among those showcasing some of the leading-edge technology and innovation that goes into producing video games.
The event, on January 7, will inform an inquiry the economy, energy and tourism committee is currently holding into the economic impact of the creative industries, focusing on the role of video games and TV and film sectors.
At next week’s event MSPs will have the opportunity to speak to video games developers, hear about the issues facing the sector and try out some of the technology at the heart of this industry’s success.
Convener of the economy, energy and tourism committee, Murdo Fraser, said: “This event will let MSPs experience the innovative technology that the video games industry in Scotland has pioneered and provides an opportunity to talk to developers about what more can be done to support them.”
