Police in Methil are investigating a report of a man indecently exposing himself.
The incident took place at around 3pm on Tuesday on Laburnum Road, when a man approached a 49-year-old woman, exposed himself and then walked towards the Lilac Bank area of the town.
The suspect is described as being between 20 to 30, of chubby build and wearing black jeans and a distinctive black waist-length jacket with what is described as fake diamonds sewn into the jacket.
Officers believe the incident may be linked to a previous assault on a 58-year-old woman, which took place on Main Street, Methilhill, on Tuesday December 23.
That time, the man responsible was described as 20 to 30, stocky, with unkempt hair and wearing a brown leather bomber-style jacket with a white T-shirt underneath bearing a circular logo with writing. He had a pockmarked complexion and was wearing glasses.
Detective Sergeant Jim McGuinness said: “Whilst there is the possibility that these crimes may be linked, I am keeping an open mind.
“Increased patrols are now being carried out in the area and members of the public should remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police immediately.”
Anybody with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
