A major police search for a missing Dundee man ended after a body was found in the Tay.
The police helicopter was deployed along with the coastguard to help search for 50-year-old Michael Noble on Sunday night.
However the search was called off shortly before 9pm and police confirmed they had recovered a body.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that officers attended at the River Tay, Dundee on Sunday evening following the sudden death of a 50-year-old man.
“There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and as with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Mr Noble was reported missing from his Broughty Ferry home at 4pm and the police search helicopter was brought from Glasgow to join the search at 6.46pm.
A police spokesman said enquiries were ongoing alongside the search but the helicopter was utilised to scour the harbour area.
One City Quay resident said he was concerned when the police spotlight shining down on his flat.
He said: “I just heard the helicopter and saw the lights shining in my window.
I looked out of window and saw it flying back and forth with its search light panning over buildings and water.
“I was concerned as to what going on.”
