Montrose man’s loud music Asbo compliance ‘slipping’

An Angus man who flouted an Asbo by blasting music at his house has been warned that his compliance with a court order is “slipping”.

George Jamieson, 43, of Montrose played loud music at his Caledonian Place home on July 9 last year, in breach of an anti-social behaviour order placed on him in March.

At Forfar Sheriff Court, he further admitted shouting and swearing in his house, on the landing and stairwell outside.

Jamieson had previously been placed on a high-tariff structured deferred sentence in order to cooperate with social workers, referred to as “one final chance” by Sheriff Gregor Murray.

The court heard he had difficulties in complying with social work supervision.

Sheriff Murray said: “You started off doing really well on this but there are signs of you slipping.”

Defending Jamieson, solicitor Bob Bruce said: “There are still issues over accepting responsibility but there are obvious learning issues which are apparent on interview.”

Jamieson’s sentence was continued to April 9.
