The breakdown between Perth and Inverness disrupted services this morning.
After removing the train Network Rail then decided to close the line completely because of the atrocious conditions.
The breakdown occurred after Network Rail posted this Tweet.

Perthshire has been worst hit by the weather this morning.
A number of schools and nurseries have closed as a result of the snow.
There were lengthy delays on the norrhtbound carriageway of the A9 at Balir Atholl and Pitlochry after two lorries got trapped in snowdrifts.
In Dundee there were two minor accidents on Dock Street that caused delays for motorists. One car collided with a set of temporary traffic lights as it came of the Tay Road Brige around 5.30am and anothe vehicle collided with railings at Arnold Clark around 7.30am after spinning out of control.
The driver suffered minor muscle injuries but did not require hospitral treatment.
There were also six-mile queues on the approach to the Forth Road Bridge from Fife this morning because of a broken down car.
