Land Rover’s limited edition Defender X-Tech ready for all weathers

The organic soup-swilling hippies who rail against ‘petrol-guzzling 4x4s’ were left looking a little silly when their flimsy eco-cars had to be rescued from the snow by the very planet-killing vehicles they’ve set their bearded faces against.

Now might be time for the lentil-eaters to look at picking up a car that can handle the worst excesses of the Scottish weather Land Rover are launching a limited edition version of its legendary Defender.

Called the X-Tech and based on the 90 Hard Top Commercial, it adds a dollop of style to the classic workhorse, with a Zermatt Silver paintjob and contrasting black finish on the roof and wheels.

It goes on sale in March, priced £24,995.
