A 29-year-old Arbroath woman has tragically died while giving birth.
Leanne Graham died at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee on Wednesday as her baby was born. The youngster survived and was taken to the hospital’s special care baby unit.
It is understood Leanne has other children.
A spokeswoman for NHS Tayside passed on the health board’s condolences to Leanne’s family.
A spokeswoman for Tayside Police said: ”We can confirm that we are carrying out inquiries into the sudden death of a 29-year-old Arbroath woman at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
”There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death but, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
