Teenagers reported after fire at Hotel Roma building in Halbeath

Two teenagers have been reported to the procurator fiscal following a blaze in a derelict hotel in Halbeath.
The fire broke out in the building which formerly housed Hotel Roma and before that the Fod Arms, in the village’s Main Street, on the evening of May 3.
Fife Police confirmed at the time they were treating the incident as suspicious. On Wednesday, they confirmed two 16-year-old boys have been reported in connection with the fire.
Detective Constable Pat Callaghan, who led the inquiry, said: ”I would like to thank the members of the public who provided information in this case.”
Five appliances and more than 20 firefighters tackled the blaze and a joint investigation by Fife Fire and Rescue Service and the police was launched.
