He was struck by the 5.56am Dundee to Glasgow Queen Street train shortly after 7am at Cornton level crossing, just north of Stirling. A spokesman from British Transport Police confirmed they are investigating the tragedy and are trying to establish the male’s identity. “There don’t appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal,” he said. As a result of the incident, train services between Dundee and Glasgow were disrupted for almost two hours. Replacement bus transport from Stirling, Dunblane, Perth and Glasgow Queen Street was in place until the line reopened at around 8.40am.
