Licensee vows to reopen after popular Perth pub closed down
ByThe Courier Reporter
The owner of a popular Perth pub is confident that issues with the licence on his premises will be solved.
The 208 pub on Crieff Road is a popular destination for football fans attending matches at the nearby McDiarmid Park and travelling to games around the country.
It was forced to close at the weekend, however, after apparently falling foul of Perth and Kinross Council’s licensing regulations.
Licensee Ian Doris said the local authority had raised allegations that breaches of the licensing laws had taken place in recent months.
As a result he was ordered to close his doors on Saturday, losing out on customers who would have been keen to watch European Championship action in what is a traditional football pub.
Mr Doris told The Courier he is confident he will soon reopen for business.
