Joinery firm’s Baluniefield plans would mean eight new jobs

A joinery company is hoping to create at least eight full-time jobs in Dundee.
Howden has applied for planning consent to take over two adjacent units on the Baluniefield Trading Estate, Balunie Drive.
One of the units is a disused workshop and the other is used for storage by the Tayside division of Police Scotland although it plans to vacate the premises in a few months.
Howden intends to create a storage and distribution centre with a trade counter.
It provides doors, cabinets and kitchen and bathroom fittings to the building trade.
Opening hours would be restricted to 8am to 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
The company has more than 500 outlets across the UK, including one on the Dryburgh Industrial Estate.
