Arbroath RNLI lifeboat crews had an early start on Monday after an early-morning call-out.
Both lifeboats launched at 6.40am to tow a creel boat with a fouled propeller back to the harbour.
After receiving the request for assistance both the inshore lifeboat Robert Fergusson and all-weather lifeboat RNLB Inchcape were alerted at approximately 6.30am.
On arriving at the scene the RNLI crew members on board the inshore lifeboat were able to quickly establish a towline with the stricken vessel.
The line was then transferred over to the all-weather lifeboat and the fishing boat was towed safely back to harbour.
