Climbers and walkers are being warned to be careful on the hills ahead of more warm weather this weekend.
The Mountaineering Council of Scotland (MCoS) is advising those more accustomed to coping with cold and wet conditions to be vigilant of overheating, dehydration and symptoms that could lead to heatstroke.
“Even experienced climbers can be caught out by the heat,” said Heather Morning, the organisation’s mountain safety adviser.
The MCoS recommends walkers should carry and drink plenty of water, topping up from streams where safe to do so as they go, wear loose, light-coloured clothes and stay out of the sun as much as possible.
