Brechin City boss Ray McKinnon is hopeful that midfielder Alan Trouten will be back playing in his first team two weeks on Saturday when they face Peterhead at Balmoor.
The 28-year-old suffered a groin injury against Airdrie almost 4 weeks ago and McKinnon has given Trouten longer than normal to recover as the injury had been troubling him throughout the season.
The plan looks to have worked with McKinnon saying: “We were determined to ensure than Alan gets over this injury and is fit for the rest of the season. It will take another couple of weeks but at the moment his progress is good and we are hopeful that he will be available for the trip to Balmoor later this month.”
Meanwhile, City’s League One fixture at Glebe Park against Stirling Albion due to take place on Saturday has been postponed as the Binos have to play Hurlford United in a Scottish Cup third round replay at Forthbank Stadium that day.
