Graeme Jackson, 35, of Kilmore Terrace, Dundee, also had no licence or insurance when police arrested him. Jackson admitted that on November 7, on Lyon Street, he drove while unsupervised and while being the holder of a provisional licence. He further admitted driving without insurance and with excess alcohol (86 mics) at the same time and place. Depute fiscal Charmaine Gilmartin told the court witnesses were concerned that he was about to drive and someone had called the police. Solicitor Andy Lyall said his client had agreed to buy the car in the pub and the man who sold it to him gave him the keys. “Common sense went out the window,” he concluded. Sheriff Gerard McMillan fined Jackson a total of £799 and disqualified him from driving for 12 months.
